If a certain person lives, your son/daughter will fall into the clutches of evil, and certain damnation.

However, If that certain person dies, your son/daughter's soul will be saved. This is for certain.

The only thing which is not for certain is what happens to your soul as a result of your decision. No matter how you try to justify yourself after you make the decision, the truth is you never truly know your soul's fate.

Where do you stand? What say you?

Do the ends justify the means?

First of all, nothing is certain. And you should never ask anyone to assume so. But from your perspective, I would say: We all have to answers for our actions. Can you live with yourself? And are you even sure that what you are considering is the only solution? There is always a better idea, or way to go about things. You just haven't thought it out. Try explaining the situation to someone. There are lots of ideas out there. Look for them.

Good question.
It might make a difference to know that Jesus didn't die for the sins we have committed, He died for our past, present and future sins. By committing this murder, we transgress Gods law but are forgiven PROVIDED we have repented and trusted in Jesus. It would be evident that it didn't effect our salvation by how we feel after this happens. If we are deeply sorry TO GOD, we are truly saved. One other thing, murder is no worse in God's eyes than lying or stealing. The Bible says that if we break just one, we are guilty of all ten commandments.

It doesn't work that way. Your children make their own choices. Nothing anyone else does can affect their soul. I would do almost anything to protect my children, but saving their soul is not within my control, except to make sure they know how to make the right choices. The rest is up to them.

What an ugly higher power to force a parent to make such a decision...because it would have to be the work of the higher power, would it not, to control where the "soul" (if such a thing existed) would go...

Wow. And they say us Atheists have no morals? There are no souls! Don't go around killing people and then say "but if I didn't, my daughter's soul would be the devil's" How absurd!!!

Sounds like a good defense for the insanity plea.
Only problem is that since it is established as a means for insanity, you may be found liable for pre-meditation.

Absolutely. Who cares about my soul as long as I protect my children?

Of course I would protect my children and my wife, but one has to believe that there is a soul. And I don't.
