how can i find out if ive been approved to visit inmate in state prison?

In which state? In California, if you are approved, the inmate must send you that information and if you are denied, the prison will send you notification and advise you of your right to appeal the denial.

Call the prison. Give them the prisoners inmate number and they will give you the information needed.
