Ok a friend of mine always says the word "f@g" I dont say it, but Im not bothered by it...he said it around another good friend of mine and she flipped out...she said he could say "queer" and "gay" but "f@g" or "f@ggot" was unacceptable...they all mean the same thing right?...I mean, I seriously wanna know what's the difference and why are people sooo offended when people say "fag" but not "gay" or "queer"....
It doesnt make since to me...if I have offended anyone by asking this question, I am sorry, but I seriously want to know the difference...

The word "gay" is used to refer to homosexual pple in an educated way.The words "fag" and "******" are used to refer to homosexual pple in an insultive way. That is what a lot of pple understand by "gay", "fag", and "******."
It is a culture thing. What happened between your friend and the good friend of yours is a miscommunication. They both understood different things from the word "fag."

To tell you the honest truth, I don't like any of those words lol. I hate how people take the "dictionary" definition and twist it. "Gay" used to mean happy. "Queer" used to simply mean something strange or out of the ordinary. "F@g/F@gg0t" literally means a bundle of sticks (back in the day when they had to gather them for firewood).
I don't know the answer to your question, but I just wanted to tell you my opinion. Hope it helps.

****** actually means a cigerette or somthing like that, so i dont see what the deal is i dont use it to refer to a person who is gay though so maybe my opinion is different than most
