Well, it has to be the chicken, of course!
Think of Adam and Eve - they were created first and put in the garden of Eden, before they reporduced. Then the animals were also created, and eggs were produced after this.
Simple!

However, see Wikipedia for a debate on this - they seem to favour the egg (doesn't mean they're right, though):

Oh dear - try this site - it also favours the egg:

I am still not convinced though.

I hope this helps:>)

Well, one day I was walking on a Farm, and up walked a chicken. It clucked at me a couple times, and then lay an egg. And I threw a digit into the air and cried Eureka! For I had just answered the age old question on what came first, the chicken or the egg. The answer is, Kevin. I came first. :-)

Order a chicken and an egg in a restaurant. The egg arrives first as it takes less time to prepare

This question came up one day in a biology class and I answered the egg. The correct answer was indeed the egg. The chicken had to start somewhere he didn't just pop up there.

The first form that had the genes of the modern chicken was
an egg.

That is, the egg was produced by something that was very
like a chicken and there were mutations in the reproduction
process creating the chicken's egg.

The chicken's egg came first.

That is a no brainer the chicken! got to have the animals to produce the eggs. Unless you try to do it somekind of scientific way then you screw up nature the way it was intended.
