I'm making some cookies to give along in the favors for my upcoming wedding, i'm having a problem with the frosting. All the frosting I'm finding is for decorating cakes and will smudge once the cookies are packed. Is there a frosting or glaze that I can put on the cookies to decorate them and not have it get ruined?

I know what you mean about the frosting and, believe me, I've tried every frosting. The only kind of glaze I've used with any success is a powdered sugar glaze.

I used lemon juice to thin out powdered sugar. I guess you could use water, but why? I've used every flavored extract and every kind of citrus juice. The glaze also lets you color it with food coloring, but only to a certain degree. If you use too much it seeps into the cookie and makes it look weird. You have to have a baking rack and be sure to let the glaze harden and dry thoroughly before packing the cookies.

By the way, lemon glaze is my favorite.

I've been surfing more than 4 hours today searching for answers to the same question, and I haven't found any interesting discussion like this. it is pretty worth enough for me.

Look on the net for a royal icing...try chocolate melting waffers...once dipped and cool they will not smudge. You can dip the cookies in chocolate then in sprinkles or something.
