Question

why do people hate color or religion?someone was talking 2 me on the phone, who got my number from a friend, but when he found out i was black, he never called back. if i would have never told him what my color or religion was, he would have never known, and we would still be having a blast.but im never going to be sorry for being what i am, or ashamed,because i love me. and as angry and hurt as i am,he's still cool with me, we just have different ideas so... y does racism happen?steriotypes you think?or maybe preference...

don't feel sad girl. that someone on the phone doesn't even had the right to talk to you. he/she is not worth it. he/she is a TOTAL idiot.

Well, if you go way way way back, we are all originally African, though it was part of Pangea at the time. And we spread out from there. What you look like today depends on where your part of the human tribe finally settled. Distinctive genetic traits are primarily the result of small groups of people moving into new environmental circumstances. They develop traits that are favorable to the new environment. These include skin color, nose form and eye shape, or coping better with extreme external conditons, such as living at an unusually high altitude.

We are all the same species, Homo sapien.

I think racism happens through ignorance and it's reinforced culturally. That is why it is important to teach diversity, and not to judge other cultures based on your own. Each culture is unique and shaped by environment to a certain degree. The forces that shaped the culture of the Berbers are not the same that shaped the culture of the Masai, or that of the Norsemen. But that doesn't make one culture better than the rest. Just different.

racism is alive and kicking. Don't stress yourself on a small minded person. I was in L.A. shopping one time one of the workers followed me all around the store. When I checked out with my credit card they wanted 2 pieces of identification to go with it and called the manager to check that it was really me in the picture. i could have gotten angry about it but then I would be angry at almost all the stores I go to. I actually feel sorry for people who are so held back because of color or culture. I am mutli cultural and thankful my parent saw fit to make sure i was exposed to a little bit of everything so i don't hhave those hangups.

I feel as though racism is either an experience or a teaching and no one wants to experience that but when they do they realize what the world is gonna be like and if your tought to like and get along with everyone than it is different

it is the fear of the unknow that makes people react like that. It is a way for them to protect themselve so they just being agressive on something they don't know
Some may end up accepting others don't, those are ignorant and will always be, they are just ruthless and they won't get any change to evoluate... don't bother... their case is helpless

Some people just hate. The same way you like things, some people hate things. And you hate things too.

It might be a bit of sterotypes....but mostly it's real world stuff people see. All it takes is one race guy to get a job or such to set off someone. It's just one thing, but they will apply it to the whole race...
