Sorry guys...I'm reposting this because I don't think some people are understanding the concept of the situation. So without further ado...

Assuming the person is attractive to you...

Would you be willing to go on a date with someone that contacted you through the internet (ie - MySpace, one of the bajillion personals sites, etc.)? Or would you more likely go on a date with someone who you talked to in person, and later asked you out? Or would you accept both situations?

Please provide a reason as to why you feel that way.

Side note:
Please realize that if you meet for a date in a public area you aren't going to be hurt, raped, etc. If you still feel think you are, understand that you are just as vulnerable to being attacked after meeting someone in person especially if they can hide their evil from detection. If you don't believe me look at the situation with Ted Bundy.

One more side note:
The person can see pictures of you, so it's not like they don't have any clue of your appearance. Plus, once again, a person can lie to you just as easy in person about how great they are.

I would be more willing to date someone that I met in person. You get a better sense of their personality that way. On the internet people often misrepresent themselves. I had a friend that went to meet a girl in person for the first time (the met on myspace), when he recognized the girl from her pictures it wasn't her. This girl posted pictures of her best friend for all her myspace pictures. It is too easy for people to pretend they are something they are not on the internet.

I will say that not all is lost in the internet world. My brother met his wife on an internet dating site. They've been happily married for about five years.

Not from the internet, my friend. I could get on here and tell people that I am 5' 10", 125 pounds, with legs that go on forever and waist length shiny blond hair when that is definitely not true. Just as easy could a guy get on here and talk himself up like he's the greatest thing ever, and he could turn out to be a real perv. I'd have to meet somebody the usual way first, then get to know them.
