Yep! I have them in all my guys. I'm especially sensitive to it after a bad situation where one of my girls got picked up by the dog catcher -- despite the fact that this dog was always, always with me, we were visiting at a friends house for the weekend for her wedding, someone let her out by accident (she was so quiet and mild-mannered that she followed them out without them realizing), she got into a hallway (not even outdoors!) where a neighbor called animal control, and they showed up and took her literally within 10 to 15 minutes. Discovering her missing was one of the worst experiences of my life.

We got her back the next morning and enough time has passed that we can chuckle about it a little, but it sure drove home the lesson that you never know what can happen.

Yes they are safe. My dog and cat both have one. The microchip itself doesn't react with the skin and usually stays in place for the rest of its life. Once the microchip is in you don't have to replace it. It is about the size of a grain of rice and injected under the skin at the shoulder area, it doesn't seem to hurt them much more than other types of injections. I have never seen a dog have a reaction or complications other than the microchip migrating under the skin away from the spot it was injected which was rare and only happened in one dog I worked with- but that is why when we scan for a microchip we scan the whole body, not just at the shoulders.

They're completely safe and a great way to make sure your pet gets back to you if he ever gets lost. My dog is microchipped.

It's perfectly safe and it isn't that expensive, my clinic charges $32 (Vancouver, BC, Canada) for the chip and the implant. The animal doesn't need to be under anesthetic to get it either, its just an injection of a chip that's the size of a grain of rice.

Yes it is perfectly safe. The vets would have tested and tested the chips to make perfectly sure that they are safe to all animals. If they weren't safe they would halt the pruduction and the usage immediately and probably would check to make sure your pets were ok. But I wouldn't be worried at all. They are harmless.

Yes they are fine, we called the company and asked all kinds of questions. I had microchips put in both my dogs and they are my babies, I would never do anything that would hurt them.

they are safe and I recomend them. I drive truck and drive all over the USA and I got my dog back when he got loose out of my truck and ran off when I was in Florida, a person found him and took him to the animal shelter and they scanned him and I was called and he was reunited with me. I would have never seen him again if it was not for the chip..

All of my dogs have them and have had them for about 8 years.
