For an amazing honeymoon experience, Hamilton Island is truly memorable. It is located in the Whitsundays near Brisbane Australia and is truly an ideallic place to visit. You can relax by the amzing (and many) pools, the beach is absolutely beautiful and the hotels are all really nice. Most provide a full buffet breakfast in the mornings and sitting outside is great as the kangaroos come up so close to your table. There is snorkeling, scuba diving and so many activities that can be done, even cruises to other tropical and equally beautiful islands. The restaurants are nice and there is plenty of little cafes also. There are bars in the middle of the swimming pools and the weather (especially from Ocrober to early March) is so warm that walking around in a sirong and swimmers makes life easy. You will love it there and for a honeymoon, i would truly recommend it. One bit of advice is try not to go in the school holiday periods (late December to mid January) as it is a little more packed.

Australia is very nice. Depending on when you are planning to get married. Keep in mind the seasons are reversed in Australia and New Zealand. It's winter there now, it'll be spring in September-October. Although Aus. is a nice place to visit, it would probably not be my first choice for a honeymoon. As you want it to be a memorable experience, I would choose Europe, Paris France, Florence, Italy or the Grecian Islands, but this is a choice that you and your spouse-to-be will have to make.

I honeymooned in Australia and loved it. Cairns is the best. Sydney was nice too. And see the koala park in Brisbane. I held a koala there. The Jenolan caves were amazing. I loved shopping in the opal shops.

Congratulations!
