Dog is on Iams, but a small eater - she's a Lhasa Apso and is small - just got her and vet checked ok - but didn't ask about the "bms"

I would switch her off of Iams, but that is a personal preference I guess... dogs are not like people, if they are eating a high quality dog food they are getting excellent and balanced nutrition every day... something most humans never get. A human in good shape eating a healty diet will go every day as well for the record...

It's pretty important to have a bowel movement every day... typically dogs will have more than one. One day w/o a bowel movement shouldn't be much of concern, if she doesn't go tomorrow it could be a sign of something bad (like intestinal blockage...) if she begins vomiting or becomes lethargic that is a very bad sign combined with not going...

She could just be nervous in her new environment... but typically, a dog will go every day...

I feed my dog Iams also because there is less bm. It goes to the dog. Sounds like what she is eating is doing hr fine. Would not worry unless her bm are dry and hard for her to push out. Maybe adding a little oil to her food would help if this is the case. I love Iams. Wagging tails and wet dogie kisses to you.

Well it is normal for a dog to have a "BM" everyday or multiple times a day, and its not a big concern if he skips a day, but if your dog goes more than two days with out a "BM" then I would start to get concerned.

Nope. Dogs are like people. Some go every day, some go every three days, some go once a week. All are perfectly normal. If yours isn't going everyday, it means you are feeding it good food and the right amount. There is very little it needs to get rid of.

oh dont worry i have a shih tzu and she doesnt go everyday, sometimes two days in a row, your dog is a small eater like you said, my dog is afraid of her food like its going to attack her so she backs off. but anyways just wait about a week and see how often she has bowel movements, if she goes more than two days without bowel movements, dont worry and you dont have to rush a bowel movement but if she looks sick or deadly looking take thedog in immediately.

some say sweet potato's help, also once you're abdomen isn't mushy to fairly spiced ingredients. try including Ginger powder and CHILI powder on your on a daily basis weightloss plan, that could want to help stimulate your digestive tract be conscious: by no skill have CHILI with breakfast because the tummy lining has a tendency to be more effective mushy for the time of that factor of day, except that you may want to work out some pleasant consequences from including them on your weightloss plan,

Lucky you.

Iams does tend to make their stools more firm, so that could be why. It's probably OK. Humans don't have to necessarily move the bowels every day to be healthy.

No. It's O.K. if she misses a day once in a while. Keep an eye on her to make sure she's not in any pain or discomfort.
