According to Jesus if you help your fellow man, its the same as if you helped him....
Matthew
34Then the King will tell those on his right hand,'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.
36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, saying,'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?
38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
40 "The King will answer them,'Most certainly I tell you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

Absolutely, unequivocally, without a shadow of a doubt - I am totally persuaded and convinced that I have accepted Jesus Christ, live daily in repentance from my former sins and in confession of my current sins and know that I am his follower and will spent my eternity in heaven - thank you Jesus for taking someone from the dumps and finding a way to give a peace that passeth all understanding.

Mt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who do what my Father in heaven wants will enter.
Mt 7:22 “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord! Lord! Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we drive out demons in your name? Didn’t we do many miracles in your name?’
Mt 7:23 Then I will tell them clearly, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who do evil!’
Ac 2:37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
Ac 2:38 Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible says nothing about "accepting Jesus." The first Christians were told to be baptized. Every time the scriptures record someone becoming a Christian they were IMMEDIATELY BAPTIZED... Even at midnight (Acts 16:33). That is not the mark of something that is optional and can be done at your leisure.
...oldguy seems to have a problem. He doesn't understand the vast portions of the New Testament which were written to combat Judaizing teachers. The law, including the ten commandments, is no longer in effect. Eph 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them. The various persons in the "God-head" are clearly seen throughout scripture. The fourth gospel has about 40 references to the divine nature of Jesus.

i have..but u know what.. i guess only recently can i truly say i Understand what i have accepted
growing up in a Christian church, i always was taught to believe in Jesus. but i never understood why christianity was so filled w/ hypocrisy, judgement, punishment, negativity..... where was the love? where was the forgiveness? it was hard.
then i went to bible study recently..and it changed my life. literally speaking, i've changed my mentality, how i think and see the world. thru Romans 5-8...which states that accepting Jesus Christ as your savior means you are Justified ---> Not Guilty, of past, present And future sins. no matter how much i mess up, or make bad decisions, God has Already forgiven me. therefore, if i truly accept and Rejoice in this, i don't have to punish myself anymore, i don't have to feel guilty for my sins, for my mistakes. but that doesn't mean i can do whatever i want and get away with it. in fact, it's quite the opposite! my acceptance of this has given me Pure Joy, Pure Thankfulness. my ability to start over and continue to make good decisios and learn from the past is something i am Thankful for. therefore, to live my life as Good, as Righteous, as Positive, as Healthy as possible is the best way i can Thank God. instead of judging myself or judging others. instead of doing "good" things just to Impress others, or try to "get to heaven." but i already know i am going to be in Heaven. therefore, i am Free for this punishment from sin that is on this earth. i can continue on, live each day as a new day, free from the past. that makes me Want to be better, to learn more, to seek what is Good in this world, and Share it. not to condemn others, not to prove i am better. no, i want to encourage others to Seek what is Good, Right, Positive in their lives, and not to judge christians, and not to judge non-christians. to live in peace and harmony, and just to continue searching what is Good in this world. :) i've never cared much for learning the bible or going to church, but after truly accepting this i feel that i WANT to do these things, things my parents used to force down my throat, i now Choose to do. it's an awesome, mysterious thing. i encourage hope and love and health and happiness to all those people out there.. it's out there, u just need to find it~
