I always try to think of things that people would really get excited about getting for their birthday. This is the first time I've given a gift to a cat. I know it is somewhat cruel to the mouse, but I know my cat will be really excited and I can't think of any thing that she would be happier with. Besides people buy these mice to feed to their snakes.

Your cat might get worms or another parasite from eating a mouse. Mice are not clean animals, and your cat would be just as happy with a fake mouse toy. You can even buy ones that wind up and move around. Plus, what happens when the cat doesn't kill the mouse and loses interest in it. Now, you'll have a mouse loose in your house. Your luck you will get a pregnant one and you'll be infested with them, I hope. Indoor cats don't typically kill their prey, but simply fool around with it. This is a really ignorant question.

Your cat will probably do something very gross and messy to it, and will likely give it back to you, possibly in your bed or shoes. Cats are like that.

Also, if the mouse gets away, then you have a mouse in your house. Get your cat some fish skin. I'm serious. Now there's a good gift for a cat.

Getting your cat a live mouse is not a good idea. Not only is it cruel to the mouse, but it'll leave you with a mess to clean up. A better idea would be to get your cat a toy mouse.

Well feeding a mouse to a cat for her birthday isnt the best. Try something that will last like chewy treats or experiment w/ what tipes of toys she likes. Such as string toys or balls of yarn or feathers you know it also depends on how old ur cat is if it is young then they will like toys if older they like food more because they cant play as much.

Um - I think you should just let your cat find random mice around the house. You don't want to risk the mouse escaping and starting a colony of it's own. Get her a bag of cat treats. Purina's are really good... our cats chew the bags open if we leave them around.

Bad idea. Get one of those mice on wheels that wind up. This way it'll move like a real mouse, you won't have to worry about loosing the real mouse in the house, and it'll last for much longer than a live one.

Almost all mice carry disease and are dirty. They also carry fleas. If the thing got loose in your house you'd be sick over it or end up with a bunch of them. No- unless your cat has been hunting all her life, she probably wouldn't eat it. She'd just play with it until she got bored and you'd have mouse poop all over your house. Yuck-buy her a store bought toy instead honey.

i think it would be ok, just make sure the mouse is healthy, and you are right, people get them to feed to their snakes, so why not a cat? maybe you should take it away before the cat actually eats it though, dont' want her to choke on a bone or anything.

It'll be a birthday present that might not last too long. You're the one who's going to clean up the mess.

I have a friend who has a cat. That cat got little toys...and a ball of yarn.
