Depends: If it is a lost person, they pray because they think God is only there to help them when they get in trouble. If it is a Christian, we pray because we KNOW He is there to help us at all time, be it trouble or peice

God did, of course. All people of all continents realize that there is a need within them that nothing seems to satisfy and they look for that satisfaction in some form of a "sacredness" - it's called the God-need - why would he bother to create us if he wasn't going to create a homing device within us to draw us to want him? Now that would make for a very illogical God!

We were created to have a courting with God. human beings turn to Him in cases of difficulty. They blame God because they're saying if there grow to be a God he might want to end suffering. The catastrophes are led to by technique of our sin and how we've dealt with the planet.

I think they might have been simply refusing to believe that God is real most of their life and when faced with their own mortality, figure why not, what could it hurt.

the danger itself is usually enough to motivate people..... it is a shame that people wait until they are in trouble to pray.... maybe if they prayed more often, they would not be in trouble.
