Yes, just walk in and sit. Or, you could ask friends where they go and about their beliefs, or how the service is conducted, or which version of the bible they use.
Be careful that you don't end up getting in with strange groups. If you are not sure of what is truth, I suggest you stick with traditional denominational. Baptist churches are so varied from sane to insane, so to begin, That may be one to avoid. (I was raised Baptist and nothing wrong with the northern 1st Baptist or many others) Try the largest church in your area to get familiar with church in general. You will be less likely to be singled out and made uncomfortable.
No matter what you decide, just go! Don't give up if you don't like the first one or two..you'll find a place you feel comfortable.

Yes, just walk in and sit. If you were thinking of going to church, A seed was planted ten years ago. Go as you are, God will take care of the rest.

no time like the pressent
yes... walk in...

walk up to people and tell them your name
you will probably get more out of it if you go to Sunday school, if they have ana dult Sunday school and its a good way to meet people if you sit down with them

dont be afraid to say, you havent been to church in a while but are interested in going

just remmember in the story the Prodigal Son, the Father waited and watched and eatched hopin his kid would come back.... and the Father in that story represents God who threw a major party!!! so... think of it this way God might just throw a party over you going to church give a couple angels a reason to smile why dont cha?

Only way I know to start is to start. If you have any friends, relatives, etc. who is in the area, you may ask them to recommend one. I would invite to mine. This Sunday they are giving free gas cards to all first time visitors. Except I think mid-michigan is a little too far from Houston. (LOL)

Good luck and welcome back...

sure thing...just show up a little early and pick a seat for yourself

make sure you're going somewhere you're comfortable--if you aren't comfortable you can always look to another church...they are definitely not all the same.
