Just be happy you aren't trying to call the Veterans' Affairs office. I tried calling several times today & they didn't even offer me the luxury of being on hold. I got a message that said, in effect, "We're sorry, all lines are currently busy. Good bye *click*"

They are. And there are those that still want more people to come into this country, and the ones here illegally to be able to stay. If there are that many waiting, and so many here illegally, doesn't anyone think we might be getting more than we can handle???

It is psychological warfare.

They figure that if they leave you sweating, thinking about your sins, when they finally get back on the phone you will babble out the whole sordid story, and they'll get points to take back to their department chief.

Or maybe it is something else.

But I like the first answer.

It's so that if you're calling from a foreign country with a phone card, it will run out of minutes.

I would also send them an email so that you have proof that you contacted them.
i.e. "This is to confirm our conversation on __________ when I informed you____________." If nothing is done about your complain, send copies to FOX news media (email) and the head of the DHS. Then sit back and watch the fireworks.
