My hubby and i have been happily married for 6 years. I love dogs and so does Josh but he doesn't like them in the house. We have 3 dogs and one cat named: Westie(black lab), Keesha(Mutt-keeshond/german shep.), our newest addition: Blue-Grass my little girl's beagle pup whom we adopted in February, and our kitty: ButterFingers. I really want another, but Josh says he won't tolerate. What should i do?

I have two dogs and two cats, and that's about all I can handle! If all of your dogs are well taken care of, then there's nothing wrong with getting a fourth dog, but if it will cause your husband to be upset, then it might not be a good thing. There are a couple of things to consider - with three dogs, you already have a pack. A fourth dog might change the pack dynamics. Your three dogs might pick on the fourth. Four dogs are harder to train than three, and you have to consider all the expenses associated with another dog (food, vet care, etc). If you want to help dogs in need, you might consider fostering a dog for the local humane society or animal rescue on a temporary basis until a permanent home can be found. Your husband might be OK with the idea of a temporary fourth dog every now and them. You also might consider volunteering at the local animal shelter or humane society every now and them.
Hope this helps!

Consider the option of fostering. Your hubby might consider allowing you to temporarily have another dog in the house to keep it from being put to sleep until it finds a forever home. Any of your local rescues will be thrilled to have you as a foster home, and check www.petfinder.com for one near you. It will be hard to let the dog go once it does find its forever home, but think of how you will be able to help save another one.

Since you already have three dogs, I would wait. I love dogs too, but there's a limit to things like that. Also, part of being married is taking your spouse's opinions/desires into consideration.

It sounds like you've already got a full house. Enjoy the pets you have. No sense in having so many that you end up being unable to afford the upkeep.

I love dogs and I have 3 myself! I would love to get another one also but my husband doesn't, so I respect his wishes. But unlike your husband my husband spoils are dogs and one even sleeps with us. I really hope you don't make your dogs live outside! Especially a Westie, ours is the one who sleeps with us . They really need to be near humans!

talk to him about it a lot. If he still doesnt agree, try top convince him. What I did once when I was younger, I went to the pound and found the puppy I wanted. I took a few pictures of him being cute, showed them to my parents, and it was impossible for them to say no.

I think you have enough. The more you take in now the less you will be able to give to the ones you already have.I know its hard to resist but you really would be taking away from the ones you have now.

You have enough...I'd listen to Josh's opinion...and still be happily married going into your 7th year!

To me three dogs is enough and alreay alot of responsibility if something should sadly happen to one of your dogs then I would get another one in about a month afterwords.
