Aside from the fact that Bush has gotten us into this mess, how are we going to fair? It seems to me that we are between a rock and a hard place. I don't forsee peaceful resolution.

The Soldiers want to go home,I know this because my hubby is there now. One thing though he did say is we don't see all the bodies everywhere, children getting heads chopped off for taking a toy from an American Soldier, people begging us to help them get away from all the tragedies around them. New Schools being built,Woman getting to attend schools even! That is a huge change. Fresh water going to villages that have kids bathing in water bodies were floating in,just horrible things our Military is helping them clean up. We are trying to build up Iraq,Kill the Terrorist cells, and get the hell out. I know it is time to get out.I DO think our President and most of the White House are idiots, but he will be out of office soon,as soon as he milks America dry! I Support our Troops,But HATE BUSH!

All the way through it says "him" but don't forget "Her" too....

Iraq is an artificial country with boundaries drawn by Britain. Its natural state would be to split into three countries. The Shiite south, Sunni middle, and Kurdistan in the north. Kurdistan will probably be invaded by Turkey unless we leave a force there, as the Kurds in eastern Turkey would probably want to join the new nation.

The US isn't doing much to quell the sectarian crisis -- perhaps civil war, that is currently consuming the country. We are more or less powerless to stop it -- the only thing that can stop it is an Iraqi police force that is well-trained and strong in number. Otherwise, Iraq will become a bloodbath -- more so than it already is.

I think it is hard to get anything from government source that are the truth. Among other reasons, they do not want the enemy to know how we are doing. My guess is that thinks are going so bad that if the full truth was known there would be active demonstrations against the war.

i don't think a peaceful resolution is possible but now that its started you guys have to teach the Iraqi people that democracy is indeed feasible i think you are in for the long hall and i know its difficult to see the young men and women come home to you in pine boxes draped in flags but their deaths are not in vain as long as you never loose sight of the fact that you are doing the right thing by supporting your troops because they think they are doing the right thing, the decision makers in you're country may be doing it for fossil fuel but the troops are risking their lives for freedom and justice and of that you should be proud

It is a costly mess that we'll be dealing with for years (if not decades).

Some things may be getting a bit better but by-and-large things are not good.

Remeber Colin Powell's words-- Its like Pottery Barn, you break it you pay for it. Bush is great at breaking things, not so good at fixing them.

Over 2,000 years of war and religion to boot, u.s. just lookin for cheap fuel, don't just blame bush we are all guilty of being resposible in one way or another. think about what we or you yourself consume each day; fuel, energy, all natural resources for us to survive others must die, seems cruel but it's true, natural selection, survival of the fittest call it what you will, over population is a s.o.b sustainance thats what we live and die for.
as for the Iraq war we stand in a bucket of poop + oil= petroleum jelly= We are f--ked.

Bush got us into this mess? That's funny, I don't remember him being an evil dictator in Iraq, killing billions of his own people everyday, making nuclear weapons to kill the "infadels" (which happens to be us BTW).....someone needs to be a little more informed before they make retarded comments like this.

They stand with the terrorist...infact they ARE the terrorists...silly americans...

What have they accomplished? Nothing but more bloodshed and divide between the Iraqi people. They only wanted oil and nothing else. Screw the rest of the country: that's their motto.

I think we really need to pull out and surround the country providing aid and support while letting the Iraqis fight it out.
