I exercise 5 days a week and already cut out all the junk and soft drinks. I drink plenty of water and eat small portions of food. Do you guys agree when people say "It's not what you eat,it's the size of the portion"?What other suggestions do you guys reccomend me?Thank-You for your time. And please as much detail as possible. I'll put you on my x-mas list. Thanx buddies!

The portion size only really represents to the type of food you are eating. For example, it's better to eat a small piece of cake rather than a large one. However, should it be something like lettuce, then you realistically can eat as much as you want, portion doesn't matter. What do you want? Weight loss? Then you must cut calories and increase exercise. No magic formula other than that. You may be exercising too much, therefore increasing muscle therefore increasing weight. Are you trying to gain weight? Then add weight training and eat more food, but "healthy" food.

What you are doing sounds like what needs to be done. I agree with the types of food and the portion size that is consumed does make a difference. Another factor you must remember when losing weight is that it takes time, so give it some time! I know it is hard to be patient for anything good but if it is worth it, then you will appreciate it even more.

Nah, it is both what you eat, and the size of the portion. If you eat very small portions of chocolate regularly, you probably won't lose much weight. :)

I would recommend a diet that help you determine what foods are low on the glycemic scale (low in natural sugars), which definitely includes protein (meat, soy, tofu, fish) and stick to reasonable sized (palm sized) portions.

Some of these diets are noted in the library link at www.hufa.org. Other ideas of what to do to lose weight are in the links off of the symptoms link. Look for "overweight" in the symptoms list.

You never mentioned whether or not you were having success with your program.
I went overboard this year with my resolutions.....I quit smoking in January, and started weight training and diet in February.I noticed results within 60 days.I kept this up until July, when it got too damned hot to lift weights.By that time I was looking GOOD!
But after I "took a sabbatical" from weight training,I also started eating garbage again.I still look better than when I started, but not as good as I looked before I stopped.
But no matter how much I worked or dieted,I never got my six-packs! I think that's because I was eating HUGE portions of healthy food.
I think you can indeed eat healthy, but still eat too much.
BTW.....I'm gonna start all over again in September when it cools down.

well it's not the smaller portions the best way to lose weight is eating every 2 hours but good food not junk if u eat small portions you are starving urself and if u decide one day i am gunna cheat then u will blow up like a balloon so best way is to eat chicken breast and veggies every 2 hours

Well that is partially true, coz if u eat a small portion of fries, popcorn, chips, biscuits, mcdonalds, burger king, red rooster, kfc.. etc. you will still get fat but if you try to cut down on portion size in general you will lose weight

no i don't agree with that statement... but if you're trying to shed the pounds; there is one thing you can do that will shave it off rather quickly. For you have to understand, that some exercises don't burn much extra weight off, but rather makes your individual muscles stronger. But if you're trying to shed pounds, and tone up ur figure here's the best way:

Leg Raises:
Lay on your back, either on the floor or bed... if on the bed, leave your legs; all the way up to just below your butt, hanging off the bed...keeping them straight out. Breathing normally, raise your legs as far up as they would go, keeping them straight as you raise them. Two sets of 15 a day will show you results in a month or less... believe me... if you want a tummy like some o the cheerleaders you may've seen in life, this is the way to get it... everything else, like crunches or situps will make your muscles stronger... and they are good for 'toning'... but if u want to shed the extra weight... do as many of those sets as you can a day... and believe me... you want regret it.

PORTION is everything! Seriously. If you deprive yourself of things you love...like with me it's chocolate, then it backfires. You can seriously eat anything you want as long as the portion is correct and you aren't eating enough to feed two people. Eat when you are hungry ,stop BEFORE you feel full. Make sure you are eating a little of everything-IE: protein, carb, veggies, fruit, fat, and get your vitamins.
