i had a liver biopsy today (a small sample of liver taken through a needle) has anyone (whos had this done or doctors) know how long it is before its ok to have sexual intercourse. without the risk of internal bleeding? thanks in adance.

god, didnt that hurt like hell? sex would be the last thing on my mind, OUCH!

the liver should be rested for about 7 hours afterwards and not stimulated regardless of sex or sexual activity.
Firstly..
if you are a female then you should not proceed with vaginal intercourse for at least 48 hours and should take vitamin E along with your prescribed anti-inflamitories such as ibuprofen.
if male, then you should not proceed with anal intercourse for up to 72 hours as the liver is more prone to discomfort from anal intrusion and you should still take vitamin E to reduce the progression of oxidative stress i.e reducing the chances of a digestive disease.

When I had that done all I had to do was stay lying down for a couple of hours if having sex would be dangerous the doctors would have said but to be on the safe side I'd leave it for a day or so

QUITE SIMPLY A BIOPSY ON THE LIVER WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR SEXUAL ABILITY ESPECIALLY ONE IN THE LIVER AREA
