I hurt my back in an car accident & have been taking percocet & or vicodin everyday for 9 mos. My doc cut me off because he wants me to have surgery but I have kids (babies) and my husband is deployed. What can I do or take to make the withdrawl less painful. Like I said I am pretty much a single mom so I cant lay around. Would Floricet help & or tramadol?

It depends on why you are taking the percocet and vicodin. If you are taking it only for pain and the fioricet or tramadol helps with your pain, then you should be able to replace one with the other. If fioricet does not help, fiorinal may, it contains aspirin instead of Tylenol as the analgesic.
If you are otherwise dependent on the percocet and vicodin (for the narcotic effects) then replacing the pain medication may not help you. You may even find yourself trying other things to get the feeling of the narcotics. If this is the case, discuss it honestly with your Dr. so that you can make a plan to wean off the medication and your Dr. can help keep you accountable.
Good luck. I know the pain can make life miserable. You may need to get some help from a friend or family member to give you a break from your kids when you get too edgy as you are weaning off.

I been on Vicodin for 8 years, I stopped cold. Im not going to lie to you, the withdrawls suck but its worth it to do it for the kids. Look into NA meetings in your area, Get a sponsor so when they are really bad you have someone to talk to...Good Luck
