Wait. I'm confused. Are you asking why illegals dont discipline their children (which I'm sure some do) or why Hispanics don't discpline their children (I come from a Hispanic home, trust me they do A LOT.)My mother is Hispanic and from what I know Hispanics tend to discipline their children the most and really try to put and teach good values in their children.

Parents emulate their cultural values. What they grew up under, they will use to raise their own children. Fear of change inhibits them from changing their child rearing practices, and in many respects, they choose to remain a part of their own enclave, and that peer group would frown on deviation from the parent culture. While it is true that we provide forms and brochures for health and education in their own native language, we fail the test of effectiveness; they are illiterate in their own language. They cannot read english, and they are unable to read spanish. In my opinion, Hispanics live in an oral culture.
By Hispanics, I do not mean those people whose primary culture is derived from Castillean Spain, but the hybrid Latino of the Americas. The Spain of Miguel Cervantes, who wrote Don Quixote are the children of an established culture with stability and education norms.
The Hispanics of the Americas are from North and South America, and Puerto Rico and Cuba. Mexicans comprise two main ethnic groups, the Mexicans who roots tgrace back to Maximillian and Carlotta, and the Mestizos which include the Mayas, and the Indians, and the Spanish Conquistadors.
It may very well be that the Hispanic male does not participate in child rearing. That it is a womans job. And if that is the case, raising 4 or 5 kids by yourself will be overwhelming. Kind of like tying her hands behind her back, I would venture to say.

you sound retarded. Of course it's racist. But so is this, It is usually the mexican and asian baby's which are the most well behaved. I know mexican babies are very protected, especially the girls. Sounds like you have some fear issues and have watched too much tv or something. They don't expect everything, have strong values, are appreciative of what they do have. Have a strong work ethic, strong family ties and are humble. Especially, the less Americanized they are. It is the immigrants who come to this country with humility, faith and manners. It's Americans with less discipline where the government even intervines and runs commercials To remind parents to talk to their kids, while they are busy trying to keep up with the Jones's and aren't even there to tend to their kids. money cannot pay for the time it takes to influence a young mind.
I agree with the other answer that economics have a role. Although, there are the working poor and the middle class. But, the sit at home poor and the "what do you want, I'll buy it" rich-raise the biggest brats thru negligence. .

Well, i don't know about ALL illegals kids, but the ones i've seen (and i've seen a lot) are WILD!!! They go SCREAMING through the stores, grabbing everything in sight, while the parents just let them!!!!!! If that had been MY kids,i would have spanked their BUTTS!!
I used to work next to a low-income housing area, and those kids would come in the store with their food stamps and buy bags FULL of candy. They would then take any CHANGE outside, where their parents were lurking, the parents would then USE the change to buy their beer and cigarettes!!!! Now stuff like that really TICKED ME OFF!!!!!!
How do i know they were ILLEGAL??? Because i live in a border state, and i've lived around them so LONG that i can spot them!!!!

In my neighborhood hispanic children walk in the streets all the time, out in front of cars too. I always wonder where their loving parents are. Little babies barely able to walk with no one watching them! As some of them get older they deliberately stand in front of cars and look at you like "Do something, I dare you!" That's a fact, and there is nothing racist about saying so. I can't tell you much about other kinds of kids as my neighborhood is about 95% hispanic. Most of the other folks headed for the hills a long time ago.

I agree with free and Proud Mexican on this one. I'm white myself and my parents didn't raise me and my sister to be a bratty little anglo like some of the ones I wound up going to high school with(such as Stephanie Doble).
What do you mean that this question will sound racist? It is racist you crazy fool!

Guerrilla Fighters In Training
"For the very young
there will no longer be acts of juvenile delinquency,
but revolutionary acts.”
(Read Below)
*MEChA’s Plan to Seize the southwestern United States *
MEChA says in the Plan,
“A nation autonomous and free -
culturally, socially, economically, and politically-
will make its own decisions on the usage of our lands,
the taxation of our goods,
the utilization of our bodies for war,
the determination of justice (reward and punishment),
and the profit of our sweat.”
The, “our lands” is the land owned by American citizens.
How does MEChA propose to obtain this land of the southwestern states?
Their Plan indicates they will use violence
with physical force
to remove the gringo from his property.
Let’s look at the following statements from the Plan.
My Particular Favorite Is The Last Sentence
In The NEXT TO LAST Paragraph
*“EDUCATION* must be relative to our people,
i.e., history, culture, bilingual education, contributions, etc.
Community control of our schools, our teachers,
our administrators, our counselors, and our programs.”
*“POLITICAL LIBERATION* can only come
through independent action on our part,
since the two-party system is the same animal
with two heads that feed from the same trough.
Where we are a majority, we will control;
where we are a minority,
we will represent a pressure group;
nationally, we will represent one party:
La Familia de La Raza!”
“El Plan de Aztlán is the plan of liberation!
Those institutions which are fattened
by our brothers to provide employment
and political pork barrels for the gringo
will do so only as acts of liberation and for La Causa.
For the very young
there will no longer be acts of juvenile delinquency,
but revolutionary acts.”
“We must insure that our writers, poets,
musicians, and artists produce literature and art
that is appealing to our people
and relates to our revolutionary culture.”

not racist, just generalizing and ignorant. actually, latino families tend to be quite strong disciplinarians with their children, but they value childhood differently than upper and middle class US families do. the snobby classes in the US tend to look at children as sub-human and follow a "should be seen and not heard" mentality. Other cultures don't denegrate children in that way. They recognize that children are different from adults but should be valued for who they are. What you see as "screaming and raising hell" they may see as children expressing and enjoying their youthful energy. Try looking at it at that way and not automatically seeing an energetic child as a bad thing.
a (white, american) developmental psychologist i know was in a restaurant with her 4 year old daughter. Her daughter was talking to her mother at a normal, reasonable volume. Some people (white, american) approached the mother and chastised her for bringing her daughter to the restaurant: "we come here to get away from children. why did you bring her here". is that a better view of children?
no culture or individual is perfect when it comes to raising and disciplining children. i would rather not see children running around the store either, but i would much rather see that than some arrogant white person getting upset just because someone brought their child out in public.
just had to add this: i'm sitting in a cafe right now. nearby, there's a white, blonde three year old climbing on her table. she's just knocked the salt shaker to the floor and now she's shouting to no one in particular. her mother is at the counter putting sugar in her coffee, not paying any attention to her loud, unruly child.
so much for your theory!
