Wait until they are ready.
Buy a potty chair & practice.
Buy a potty training book & read it to your child.
Keep talking about it.
Use a NON FOOD reward system - Stickers, Fruit & Veggies.
Let it be THE child's idea NOT the parents idea!
Training too early can delay the training process.
Girls are easier to train than Boys!

The easiest way, I've found, is to take them in the bathroom with you, every time you go. Get them used to sitting on the potty. Take them when they squirm or act like they have to go. Praise them highly, when they do go.
Using this method, I trained both of my kids in less than a month. My daughter also used it to train her kids, so I know it works!

At 2 years old just start introducing him to the potty and see what he does.He may take to it and he may not. But if you are going to start be consistant. My son has bowel problems and the specialist we take him to at Cincinatti Childrens Hosp. Says that 3 years old is the time to start them. Good Luck

this worked with my baby cousin.
Everytime he would go to the bathroom in the potty he would get a coin and intead of flushing it down the toilet he had a bank that was a tiolet and you put the money in it and flush it. walmart sells it. and girl or boy give him/her big girl panties/ big boy under wear and tell him/her they cant wear them if they mess them up they cant wear them anymore. It worked with my best friends child. My daughter is almost old enough and Im going to try that method. Good luck!

PRAISE! Don't punish him or her for accidents, just lavish praise on them for success. Don't make it a power struggle-- you won't win. And if they're not ready, then just be consistent so they will know what to do when they are ready.

Don't force it. Most kids especially boys are not ready til they turn three. So be patient.
