I have a 1997 Grand Caravan, the tape player went out in the stereo (I think it's the factory stereo). I'd like to replace it with a stereo, preferably with cassette player (yes, I prefer cassettes) and maybe with a CD player.

I already checked Best Buy, they have nothing that will fit my van. I really don't want some cheapie thing from Wal-Mart. I'm looking for about $100 price range. I'm also in northeastern Ohio.

Crutchfield.com will tell you what fits and has good prices and will know exactly what you need to install in your vehicle. Ebay sometimes has great prices; but none of the perks Crutchfield offers. I bought a great stereo off ebay for a great buy and was able to get the correct wiring harness from a local shop for a fair price; I was afraid they would overcharge because I didn't buy from them but they were very helpful.
Good luck

I dont know how big the stock headunit is on a 97' caravan but im guessing if you didnt see one that fits its because its a DIN and a half. You can get a CD/Cassette player that will fill that big hole, and circuit city will sell you a wiring harness adapter for your stock head unit to any brand head unit.

First off, I apologize for all these knuckleheads answering your question with no help at all....now.......

Best buy had nothing that will "fit" your van? Strange, but oh well. It's all about the installation kit, not the stereo, but if you researched it.......I trust you

I would recommend if you want cheap....go to walmart anyway, buy a pioneer or kenwood if they carry those. Do not buy sony or panasonic.

ps- $100 should get you a decent tape deck....
DO NOT order from Crutchfield....just a good tip

You need to find a DIN and a half stereo to fit or get an adapter plate to put in a DIN unit. If you are looking for cheaper possibly used go to some pawn shops and look at what they have. People are always taking their stuff there after they figure out they couldn't afford it.
