It depends on what the terms are for the probation. Some terms state that the person can't associate with known criminals, therefore cannot be around other people on probation.

In some cases, the conditions of probation do limit or forbid it. In cases where individuals were crime partners, known drug users, etc. the court has the ability to keep certain persons apart, even married couples. Violatio of probation for it could result in additional jail time. Is it worth the chance?

It's a Violation if it happens outside of work. Adults on probation are not allowed to have casual meets with others on probation.
