Hi there..definately not! People love talking to their cats because they don't descriminate against you if something said is terrible about someone or something. You could go on about nothing and they still will take interest with whatever you're saying. Cats do receive information from your conversation too: praise, comfort, and a sense of security. You can also tell a great deal about what cats want or how they are feeling simply by the look in their eyes or their reaction to things. Are your cat's ears twitching in your direction like satellite dishes when you are speaking? He or she is absorbing everything you are saying. It's healthy to talk to your cat because they will listen to anything you want to share with them.

Nope. In fact, it's very useful.

Talking is the way we communicate; communicating with a pet is a good idea. She can't understand your words (or most of them, anyway), but your tone of voice will tell her what she needs to know.

A well-socialized cat is usually a well-behaved cat... because she knows more easily what you want her to do.

of course its not odd, most people talk to their pets... after all pets are usually treated as members of the family, and the good thing about it is that you can't have arguments with cats, you can just talk at your own free will!

i have one cat and two dogs i love them very much i talk to them all the time and sometimes they give me a look that says i no. and sometimes they give me a look like what the hell are you talking about. but i think i would not want to be a pet and live with someone who did'nt talk to me.

I don't think so. My cats are probably having an identity crisis, because I have so many different names for them other than there own.
