They are not the same. You need to call the original court and ask for the citation number.

I can't tell you for California, but in GA, no, ticket citation numbers are not the court case numbers.

No the citation number is NOT the same as the docket number. Call the clerks office and have them look up your name, they will have all the information you need.

Most likely it is the same number. However if your not sure the easiest thing to do would be to call the clerk's office of your local court house. All he/she will need is your name and they can pull up the ticket for you to make sure. Hope this helps.
