Fortunately, not everybody abuses that power.
There are plenty of Christians in America who are not bigoted against gays, who understand that a woman's body is her own, and who appreciate that others worship differently.
Sadly, damage has already been done by the Religious Reich. Blue laws still exist, and there is still discrimination. But the moderate Christians are able to temper that, so that America does not turn into another Iraq.
Some may claim that America enjoys the First Amendment. That does mitigate the situation some, but it wasn't enough to stop Sen. McCarthy in his ramage. The Constitution is as effective as the people who elect the leaders.

look, the Bible is a non secular e book and so the carnal techniques can't know it. It must be spiritually discerned (a million Corinthians 2:14). you won't like listening to that, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it relatively is a fact of existence. The Bible grow to be no longer written to unbelievers, yet in basic terms to born lower back, spirit-crammed Christians who own the Holy Spirit residing interior them. the only way a guy or woman can grow to be non secular is by using the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit grow to be sent right here to instruction manual and instruction manual us into ALL fact (John sixteen:13). in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, except you're a born lower back Christian who HAS the Holy Spirit ABIDING interior YOU, He can't lead and instruction manual you into all fact. study the Bible for your self. Does it no longer say which you're no longer interior the flesh (which means carnal) yet interior the Spirit, if certainly the Spirit of God dwells in you, yet whilst everyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he's not His? (Romans 8:9). we are able to do no greater desirable than inform you the fact. you're becoming theory you have been a Christian interior the previous yet there is greater to being a Christian than only believing you comprehend. you go with the Holy Spirit residing interior you so He can seal you unto the excellent day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). besides, no remember in case you think it or no longer, it relatively is a fact. So we do not have any particular POWERS NO, however the HOLY SPIRIT DOES.

No religion ought to prodding for 'power' that way, anyhow. And yes, Catholics control the money worldwide. They have a huge say in who says what to the public.
This is why I am not affiliated with an organized religion: until they are not corrupt, I'll remain so.

But you don't understand. There are still a few Jews in Florida and a handful of atheists in New York, not to mention Buddhists in Korea. No rest for the evangelicals of the world. Onward Christian soldiers marching as to war and all that.

cause they are powerless to have an intelligent conversation when publicly confronjted by a critical thinker who disagrees with their values and must cling to ignorance, hypocrisy and self righteousness like they never have before to maintain their blind faith. they are feeble minded and have had to learn to pool their financial resources and form large congregations to maintain social tolerance of their bs and the church is a large money making political machine, aetheists need to wake up and learn from them and form the church of freethinking and get themselves a couple of lobbyists also.

The non-believers have the same right to vote for non-believers, have the same access to the courts and law process as Believers do.
Just because they can't get it together, it's not our fault!

Ahh but you see that is why the founding fathers were smart enough to ensure that state and church were SEPERATE.
The distance between the two (church and state) is what we call freedom.
Understand that.
