both really like.enjoy each other's company.

If you are financially stable enough so that the baby will have an at-home parent, I think your wife is correct if you might eventually want more than one child. It is not always easy to have your children very close together, especially if your wife has difficult pregnancies or you have a very exhausting baby / toddler (which describes most babies / toddlers). also it could take you a lot longer to conceive than you are expecting. The end result: If you don't start with your 1st child until your 30's, you could be very, very old and tired by the time you have the last one raised and kicked out the door! You certainly don't have to purchase ANY toys before you have a baby. They don't play with toys for the 1st few months of life, and then the toys start accumulating from relatives, spontaneous buys at wal-mart to make the kid behave in the shopping cart, etc. So, not having enough toys before a pregnancy is a bizarre excuse. I think it is hard for a man to get started on a family, because it is hard for him to envision a child until he actually has his own. Your wife on the other hand, is probably going biological-clock-crazy. No time will probably ever seem ideal to you because the idea of having a kid will always seem weird until you have one. So, if there are no red flags like being unhappy in your marriage or real financial problems, I recommend you bite the bullet and do it.

The best time is when you both agree it's a good time. But, if you're making bills just fine, and you've paid off as much debt as you can stand to pay off with your extra income, you don't fight very often, and you generally have come to agreement on how you want to raise kids, then you're probably ready anytime.
The only advice I have is, don't wait too long. It's no fun to be 10 years old and hear things like, "Maybe we'll play ball tomorrow; Daddy's arthritis is acting up today."

I think the best time is when you both agree. Sit down and talk to each other & talk about it. Or you could just try for a baby nxt year or when your wife turns 27. She may not be able to get preg. right away. Its all up to you guys. You guys have to talk this one out. We cant really give you an exact answre to this one. Sorry.

I think that right now sounds like good time.
when trying to concieve sometimes it can take a while.
some people get pregnant within a couple of months and others it might take 2 years. But the older your wife is the higher risk the baby will be for down syndrome.

if you wait until you can afford it you may never have a child, It sounds like you are already set to provide a good home for the child. And if you have a good job, then you will be able to get what is needed.

It sounds to me like you have your act together. You're probably ready for children.
The generic answer is:
When you're mature enough, have a stable job, and are ready for an enourmous amount of responsibility.

When you BOTH are ready. Keep in mind that her reproductive years are shorter than yours, so naturally she'd keep nagging at you a little.
