well i am a little bit. when i'm in class and whenever we have a class presentation, i get a little nervous at first, but when i begin speaking, i'm not nervous at all. why do we fear it? when someone gets nervous, they speak too fast, too low, stare at the ground instead of the people, can't keep still, fidgit, can't make eye contact with audience, and embarrass themselves sometimes.

I've always had a problem with lack of confidence and low self esteem. When I begin to speak in public, it's like I'm opening myself up to ridicule. And yes, because of the effects of my nervousness, it makes it all soooooo much worse - the stammering, the hesitation etc. I've literally had people tell me I suck, or laugh at me when speaking in public. Those incidents have made it doubly hard for me to speak again in front of a crowd. I'm the type of person who relives the biting words and criticisms, and torments and beats myself mentally for my shortcomings. Anyway, to make a long answer longer, I avoid speaking in public at ALL cost. lol
