Take the Kooks, Razorlight and The kings of Leon for instance. Great tunes from guys younger than me...should youngsters have so much talent? It used to feel like the more mature musicians were the best but these young bands are making a mockery of my theory!

Yeah totally! Guys like razorlight, the kooks and arctic monkeys just seem too young for me. I'm not exactly old myself (28) but I grew up in the 90s and they seem so young.

A while ago my fella's nephew (in his twenties) was visiting and we had David Gray's "White Ladder" on. I said how I prefered the original of "Say hello, Wave goodbye" by Soft Cell. Can you imagine how old I felt when the nephew asked who Soft Cell were! Christ, I'm only 40 but felt a hundred. So it's not so much the new bands that make me feel old, but the kids today who can't remember anything earlier than two weeks ago. :-)

it seems to me that bands appeared to get younger as i got older - i mean in my hey days it was the osmonds and bay city rollers that got me groving, then a decade later it was madness & co, now a few decades on im into music that i can chill to and regardless of their age there is some good talent around (& i dont just mean their singing - lol)

The younger bands just have better production. The producer is usually someone older.

No one used to be younger than me. I know how you feel. Legitimate talented and artistic young people are coming out everywhere.
Soon, everyone popular will be younger than me. Wierd. She doesn't do music, but example: Scarlet Johansen is one year younger than me.

What kills me is when I look up some hot actor with all kinds of roles and awards and it turns out he's younger than me. It's getting easier and easier to be younger than me, with every passing year.

I feel older when you here a cover version thats been covered & covered & covered, and you new it when it first came out.
