My boyfriend and i have been dating like 10 months we met in november. his birthday was in january so i took him too a restaurant just us..now my birthday is coming up, should i be expecting a gift or just dinner?I really don't care ,either is nice. i am just wondering....

Uh, yes! 10 months is a long time and especially if you did something for him right after you met. You should expect both a present and dinner.

hopefully after 10 months he knows you good enough to find you a gift that makes you happy, and if he gave it to you in a restaurant would make it all even better...
but what should you expect? never expect too much, that way disapointments are kept small; hoping and dreaming are allowed though!!

I guess that it all depends on how financially secure your man is at present. And also how much he enjoys spending money on you and you being appreciative. Some men love spending money on their ladies, even if they don't have a lot. Other's are not as emotional or sensitive I guess you might call it and don't view giving gifts as something important. Hope that your birthday is happy regardless and that he does spoil you.

I don't think about the rules of dating, I never expect and then when it's given it's given because they want to not have to and it means more.

Yep, you must expect him. ause you'r not some one regulare to him, so some things must be diffrent, and it's the least he can do in return.

hope for the best. guys usually do not reciprocate (think) on their own. if he does great, if not chalk it up to experience and be careful.
