Let me begin with a question...
How can you perform spells and not believe in what witches did years ago...and today?
Now I believe there are good and bad witches, so don't get me wrong.
The real problem is that by entering the realm of "spells" we are placing faith in something outside of ourselves and, in effect, trying to play God.
Yes, the Catholic Church is dead set against such activity. It is wrong, simply by reading the first and second commandment.
It is more wrong, because even if it would work, human nature being what it is, we would ultimately start using these powers for our own selfish end. This would be our own end in tragedy as well.
I could say a lot more but I don't want to write a book. Check this out with a good and knowledgeable Catholic priest and ask for suggested readings. He should be glad to help.

Yes. I'm a former Catholic and a present witch, and what I do, although having nothing whatsoever to do with evil and Satan (who belongs solely to the Christians), still gives my Catholic family the willies. But they see that I'm a good person who does a lot of good, so I think they just prefer not to think about it too much.

yes it is very much against the catholic relighion. but...lets point out that the wiccan religion was around way before the catholic religion origanated. also the witchcraft you talk of isnt the same as you see on movies. its basically a form of praying to their goddess using certian herbs and ellements from the earth
so the reason i think its against the cristian faith is because they fear it because they dont know much about it.

by the way...im not wiccan

Didn't we just cover this. Christianity as whole rejects witches and the practice of witchcraft. It isn't a matter of believing. I believe that witches could garner power and that is why we are not supposed to play with that stuff.

Witchcraft is not against the Catholic faith, it simply respects ALL faiths. You can be a christian and also a wiccan. Wicca is linked to paganism which is outside of religion in that it is not an organised religion. It is not evil, it is the person's intent which deems it evil or not.

Of course, catholics think that everyone but them is going to hell. They commit sins and just ask to be forgiven and because they are catholic it is okay.
