What do you think is the grumpiest place in the UK?

I can believe London is numero uno (no offence - I think it's your horrible tap water) but not that Manchester is second!! No way!!

It's only Manchester on a Sunday morning when we're all hungover from being madly cheerful party animals on Saturday nights. Apart from then, it's always Cornwall. They even have their own black flag to symbolise their abject despair and misery. "Blaaaack!"

I think the whole of Britain has been grumpy for a while. Can't blame them, the country is in such a state and people are not happy with their lot. We work all week just to pay the bills, can't really afford to go out or buy anything because we are continually being ripped off by our government in one way or another. Our democracy has been turned into a dictatorship cos you can't say what you like anymore incase you're being politically incorrect or if you object to anything, they don't take any notice. No wonder alot of people turn to alcohol or drugs! I can remember when people were nice to each other and strangers actually spoke to one another in a queue in the supermarket or at a bus stop. Life is miserable in the UK generally!

I cannot believe you just said that London has horrible tap water.

I have lived in three of the four corners of mainland US, as well as Germany and France. Never in my life had I found tap water that was acceptable. I am extremely picky with water. I don't even like most bottled water. I even hate Dasani, Dannon, Zephyrhills, Evian, etc. They all taste terrible.
The only one I like is Aquafina. Other than that I only drink distilled water.

However, when I got to go to London last New Year's I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could not only drink the tapwater in London, but that it actually tasted good!!!! I always rave about it. I'm simply flabbergasted by your opinion of it.

And furthermore, the people in London were so friendly I could hardly stand it. I adore England.

Sherborne in Dorset can be a lovely rustic town with cute boutiques but sometimes people who you have been talking to the night before in the boozer just plain ignore you and can be very snobby and to be honest very rude. I think that I have had a bad expereince here. I say hi and people look at me as if I have thrown manaure all over them. Oh well such is life. Yes people can be grumpy but also very sometimes friendly and kind.

totally agree that london is the grumpiest place i have ever set foot in! Got slightly lost there once and tried to ask for directions but people just kept on going! Eventually someone stopped and showed me the way (and he was very pleasant), but I was a bit shocked that I was totally ignored by people.

London is the rudest, in my opinion, east Yorkshire the most narrow minded , Swansea the worst chip on their shoulders, But each place has it's good and bad so I think we're all pretty even really. Northerners are more fun....but I'm bias being from Liverpool!

I went to North wales recently you know by snowdonia and every shop we went into they was so rude, they were happy to take my money though, prefer South Wales. Mancester is not the second city in England birmingham is.

Try Otterburn just north of Newcastle, after a two week winter exercise and numerous shovel recce's it can be one grumpy place.
