According to the Food Pyramid Chart, a serving size is one teaspoon per year of age for the child:
4 year old= 4 teaspoons of each item on their plate
1 year old= 1 teaspoon of each item on their plate

Like everyone else says: the size of their fist or palm. Kids don't eat when they're not hungry, so better to give them a small amount to start with then give more if they want it, than to overwhelm them, risk a tantrum, and waste food.

serving size for a toddler is about 2 table spoons for fruit and veggies per serving, 1/4 cup of grains ps it was actually on the today show today so try looking them up.

Tummies are the size of their fist, that's why they eat every 4hrs or so. They're growing so fast they burn it off. (Unlike us poor adults).

I got on their mailing list for coupons/brochures when my great-nephew was born, and they have excellent info -- not just gerber products.

i recently saw a magazine article on this and it was measured as the size of dice for meat and ping pong ball for veggies/fruits

I say feed the child. If they wants lots more fruits or veggies, go for it. If it's junk they want, very little. It all depends on what they want more of
