I've been researching religions a lot lately, and I just came across Baha'i. I read that it started in 1844 and that the followers are called Babis. I was also reading, and what I found most interesting, is that they believe all religions come from the same source; they're all the work of one God. They don't believe in spirits and angels, and feel that Heaven and Hell are symbolic conditions of the soul, not real places.
I find this particular religion very interesting. I would like to hear what other people know about it, and possibly if anyone follows this.
For those replying...it's great that you have strong beliefs in your religion, but don't reply if you can't enlighten me with more information about Baha'i. I already know enough about Christianity, I'm interested in Baha'i.

Bahá'í Faith
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bahá'í Faith is a religion founded by Bahá'u'lláh in 19th century Persia. Bahá'ís number around six million in more than two hundred countries around the world.[1][2]
According to Bahá'í teachings, religious history is seen as an evolving educational process for mankind, through God's messengers, which are termed Manifestations of God. Bahá'u'lláh is seen as the most recent, pivotal, but not final of these individuals. He claimed to be the long-expected educator and teacher of all peoples, prophesied in Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and other religions, and that his mission was to establish a firm basis for unity throughout the world, and inaugurate an age of peace and justice, which Bahá'ís expect will inevitably arise.[3]
Fundamental to Bahá'í teachings are three core assertions: the oneness of God, the oneness of religion, and the oneness of humanity. These principles have a profound impact on the theological and social teachings of this religion.
"Bahá'í" (Ba-haa-ee or [baˈhaʔi]) is either an adjective referring to this religion or the term for a follower of Bahá'u'lláh, and not a noun referring to the religion as a whole. The term comes from the Arabic word Bahá’ بهاء, meaning "glory" or "splendor".

I went to a Baha'i wedding once, it was so interesting it seemed liked it had attributes of a couple different religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
I actually did some research into it and the religion really is based on the acceptance of others more so then any other that I have experienced.
It seems like most of the other major religions are threatened if you don't believe the same way they do. The Baha'i really seem to practice what the preach.
If you are ever in Chicago you have to check out the Baha'i temple in Evanston, it is really an attractive building.

Baha'i is a beautiful religion that represents a synthesis of many of the best traits of the major religions. It is very much concerned with equality and unity between all people. One of the special aspects of Baha'i is its emphasis on racial unity as demonstrated by its encouragement of interracial marriages. There are many excellent Baha'i sites online that will give you much more information than anyone here could. Blessings.
