There is a reason for the Pap and blood work before being prescribed the pill. You could have cervical cancer, high blood pressure, etc. You would not want to take the pill and end up having a stroke because you were scared to see a gynecologist. Something bothers me...how can you be o.k. with having sex but afraid of letting a doctor check u out??? You should have seen a gynecologist the day after u had sex. How do u know if u dont have an STD, pregnant, cancer of the ovaries or cervix. Apparently you are too young to have sex!!!

OMG ... did you read my answer ... get a freakin' pap smear .. it's not that uncomfortable and yeah a little embarrassing .. but sh*t girl ... you have to do it sooner or later ... don't you know you're suppose to get them once a year ... tell your mom the pill doesn't stop your period .. the shot does ... and only after the first 6 months of straight bleeding does it stop ... I wouldn't recommend the shot for your first time birth control ... !

If you're already worried about gaining weight ... then yes you're going to gain weight ... I think it's all in the mind wither or not you gain weight .. try working out .. not hard .. also most girls start gaining weight because most of the time they start taking the pill when they're going threw puberty ... when your body is still growing and changing everyday .. !

Sexually active at 14....so sad...and you dont even know about the pills. I hope you have been using condoms and will continue to do so. Since you are sexually active you should have a pap smear and it will be suggested. If you werent active it would nt be required but all sexual active women are advised to get pap smears (its for the best) SOME women gain weight while on the pill. I was not one of those women. You need to slow your roll hon. You have plenty of time to do adult things.

You can get on the pill at Planned Parenthood without getting a pap smear. It doesn't hurt, especially if you are already sexually active. As far as a private dr, it is probably up tto them. Most of the pills will not make you gain weight. However, different story with DEPO!
Remember, you should still use condoms to protect against STD's.

Yes, you have to get a PAP, so that you will know if you have any type of STD's or other issues. However, your doctor will give you the option of letting your mother know if you're active or not. I personally feel that if you are mature enough to have sex you should be able to profess this to your mother. After all she is legally responsible for you even if you got pregnant and the health care plan your getting the B.C. pills on! Secondly, gaining weight should be the least of your worries at your age you should have a high metabolism to burn off any unwanted fat! You really need to self evaluate after reading you question above I think you too young and not mature enough to have sex!

Yeah you gain weight and if you're sexually active you do need to get a Pap Smear. You should be able to pay the price for wanting to grow up so soon.

no you don't gain weight being on the pill. and yes, you need to get a pap smear- no, it's not fun, but it's important that you do it, especially if you are sexually active.

also, always use a condom- i don't care how much he protests!

ps) DO NOT take the depo shot- it will make you gain a lot of weight, as well as put you at serious risk of heart problems and breast cancer.
be careful- getting pregnant or worse, getting an STD can ruin your life. be sure this guy is worth the lovin'.

You'll have to get a pap. It's necessary to check for abnormalities. Weight gain is a side effect with some women. Keep eating right and exersize regularly.
