If one person says something it doesn't make it the belief or the teachings of millions of people.
If you want to know What The Catholic Church Teaches,
This is the Catholic Catechism on-line on the Vatican Website
http://www.vatican.va/archive/catechism/ccc_toc.htm
This is what Catholics Believe or are supposed to believe.
If you talk to someone who doesn't know their faith and their tell you something, That doesn't represent the entire group.
Also If you want to know what we believe in a class setting you can go to your nearest Catholic Church and ask about the RICA Classes. This will explain what we believe and why. After you finish the classes you can become a Catholic or walk away knowing what we believe. You cannot find out from another church what Catholics believe because if they really knew they would be Catholics.
God Bless you,

--is Catholic--
I am the one who said that. You take my words out of context.
What I said specifically was that when one is searching for truth and considers the history and the development of human understanding that Catholicism either is the fullness of truth or that it is the best that humans currently possess and that whatever is most true in the future must spring from the Catholic Church. It depends on where you are coming from, but the end result is the same, that the individual who seeks after truth and light and the good comes to accept that the Catholic Church is the Church of Christ, the sacrament of salvation, the guardian teacher and expounder of the deposit of revelation, outpours the Holy Spirit into the world, and the means by which we enter into the Kingdom of God.
Now that that is cleared up, on to your question:
You have to understand that for us humans access to and comprehension of truth is fluid. Truth itself does not change, but our knowledge and precision of truth does. Within theology this is called "DEVELOPMENT OF DOCTRINE" which there is a great book by John Henry Newman by the same title.
While Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and tomorrow, the depth of what he reveals to us about himself grows as well as his expectation of what we are to do with our lives while we live out the Christian Faith.
Now you should know that the Church is not the same thing as the Kingdom, but that the Kingdom will grow out of the Church. I suggest you read DOMINUS IESUS, which will help you understand.
For a moment stop and consider that what I say doesn't make sense to you simply because you see the scriptures only as a specific set of words on a page. How can the scriptures be living words if they do not grow and become more than just words? Are the words on the page the only thing we know about Christ? As a Catholic, I have to say, of course not. Christ speaks now and currently and expounds more about himself. The Church is Christs Body, and his Bride. The traditions and the on going teachings of the Church speak in concert with the scripture, for they have the same spirit, which is the Holy Spirit. That is why scripture says "he who hears you hears me" and that as the Father is made known through the Son, so too will the Son (and thus the Father) be made known through the teaching of the apostles. Even before the NT was finished being written, the Catholic Church spoke and said to the world, here is how you know the teachings of the apostles from those who would steal you away, where ever a valid bishops conducts an Eucharist, there is the Catholic Church and there is Christ.
So I would have to invite you to read the writings of the Early Christians (pre 300 AD) in full, not some synopsis. As yourself if what you think is true is what they thought was true. Did your teachings grow out of those teachings or did somebody switch teaching on you someplace along the line?
for starters you can read
www.scripturecatholic.com which puts things in order
www.newadvent.org/fathers for texts in full

Truth always changes, sweetie. There's a lot of impermanance in this world. That's just life. What is truth really except what we make it? We're always learning. That's not to say your religion is wrong or untrue. It's just that we're only human and we get things wrong more often than not.
It gets to a point where it's not a matter of what God or Jesus said: the things that cause us all the problems are the things we make up ourselves. Maybe what Jesus and God say don't change in their status as the truth, but what humans say does change.

The catholic who said this feels that the catholic church is the correct truth now and that is a shame the bible says"not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his mercy he saves us. ' catholics do not believe this they believe the can enter into the kingdom of heaven by being a good person and going to church and going to confession the bible says you only need go to Jesus to ask you for forgiveness of your sins and after that if you falter along the way all you have to do is pray and ask god to forgive your fleshly weaknesses. no one needs to hear your prayer or sin but God . there are many who will try to change religion to be more convenient for man but there is only one way, one truth.

It sounds to me like it's someone who's a Catholic and has faith in their religion. They believe their church is true and can't see how anything could be more true than what they believe in. I'm not a Catholic but I see where they're coming from

LOL...great question!
Yeah, truth doesn't change. Furthermore, I don't think the Catholic church has the slightest clue as to what truth and logic are.
