Uh no they aren't.
I worked as a chambermaid in the summer as a teen.
The sheets are changed as well as the towels but it would be a terrible strain to change blankets and bedspreads. Bedspreads are harder to wash as these establishments use a commercial laundry service and the mangles are really tough on quilted items.
One place I worked at actually had us wash the rooms glasses and put fresh paper on them all by ourselves. We rinsed them out and wiped them out. That was the nice family motel.EWWWW. I worked at a no-tell motel that insisted on us bringing them in and using the dishwasher to wash the glasses and rotate the clean ones. That was a lot more sanitary.
Anytime I stay in a rented room I wash out the glasses before I use them. I also peel off the bed spread and put it on a chair.

They do NOT change them with every new occupant. they change the sheets. I saw a documentary once and I was stunned at what they found on the bedspread. Do I need say more? Take it off as soon as you get in the room and then go wash your hands!!!

That depends on how expensive the hotel is. The lower the price the lower the hygienic standard ! That's logical, isn't it ?

But if you worry so much don't go to hotels but I doubt there are any real clean places to spend the night. The only alternative I see is to sleep in your own motorhome !

I think almost every place on this whole planet was touched by at least one human being. Maybe on Mars you will have more luck. :o)

The top quality hotels will change the bedding for each new occupant. The one and two star hotels may not.

I worked at a state park, they have a hotel there, the bedspread is washed about 2 or 3 times a year, but if its really dirty, then we would wash it. But hey what about the chairs, and couches, you know people have had sex on them, and those never get cleaned. yuck

yeah... how about that? I was wondering myself, cuz I've never seen the cleaning lady go around with fresh bedspreads. I'm going to follow that first poster's advice and take the spread off, and ask for an extra blanket. That would be clean, wouldn't it?

As far as I know they aren't changed that often. That's why I always take my own blankets to hotels. You never know who or what's been in those beds!

sheets are changed after you checkout. the blankets and covers are not unless there is a stain or something on them. that goes for most major hotel chains. the smaller ones, can't say

Bed spreads aren't laundered as often as the sheets. Yuck!
And what about the blankets?
