Sugar Ray Robinson was certainly the greatest middleweight ever. He may have been the greatest boxer ever, eventhough the greatest heavyweight Muammad Ali is often referred to as the Greatest. Robinson, much like Ali, ducked no one, this is unheard of in this day and age--for the most part. Nowadays when the best 4 fighters in a division fight usually one or more of the 4 is no longer in his prime. When Robinson fought he took on anyone and eveyone. Don't take my word for look at his record. Look at the opponents, look at the work he put in against the likes of LaMotta, Basora, Gavilan, Basilio, Turpin, and, Armstrong. The same can be said for Muhammad Ali. The guy fought all of the number one contenders and champs of his day. Foreman, Norton, Frazier, Spinks, Liston, Patterson, The Supreme Court, Moore, Clark, Terrell, and, Shavers. The numbers, the level of competition, and, the consistency and quality of work do not lie. Ali, the greatest heavy, and, Sugar Ray Robinson, the greatest middleweight, ......hands down.

Bernard Hopkins. After losing to Roy Jones Jr. he trained even harder and quickly walked out of the shadow. He then notched up another 26 unbeaten streak fight making a record breaking 20 title defenses of his middleweight crown, unifying every major middleweight title. He was undeniably the best pound for pound king in the world with wins over great fighters like Oscar Dela Hoya, Glen Johnson, William Joppy, Howard Eastman, not to mention the absolute execution of Felix Trinidad.

Muhammad Ali_ Greatest Of all Time. Need I say more?

Middle Weight: Sugar Ray Robinson

Heavy Weight: I know I'm on a limb with this one, but my answer is Jack Dempsey. I know he never fought Ali or Tyson, but come on, he had five first round KOs in a row. Fought more than 80 some fights (he would sometimes fight under different names so the exact number is unknown), and here is an account of one his fights:

"The first round of the fight was one of the most brutal in boxing history. Dempsey dealt Willard a terrible beating and knocked him down seven times in that round alone. Willard had a broken cheekbone, broken jaw, several teeth knocked out, and broken ribs."

I would say Roy Jones Jr. ruled the middleweight division and though he even won a Heavyweight belt, the greatest heavy weight of all time is Muhammad Ali. 'nuff said.
