The Air Force will teach you more jobs you can do in the cilivan world plus you don't do nearly the dirty work as the Army or Marnies. Don't take the Air Force lightly though, you'll run into a lot more rules and regulations.

I come from an Army background, but I have served with Air Force personnel on Air Force bases before. The life of an Airman is a lot more comfortable than the life of a soldier, and many of the AF jobs are more valuable in the civilian world than Army ones. I would definitely consider the Air Force, unless you are really wanting to be an infantryman or tanker and want to see combat (which I don't recommend).

I'm currently serving in the Air Force, but I've worked and lived with Army in the past. All I got to say is that AF has much better facilities, food, and overall living conditions. Plus as stated before, you have a better chance of getting a good civilian job when you get out with AF training.

Yes, when I got out of the Air Force, my training allowed me to triple my salary right out of the starting gate. Telecommunications. You also get to go overseas which are the best assignments. I enjoyed the service, but I wanted Europe and was stuck in PACAF(I did enjoy my time there though). I wanted a country where I was not taller than everyone. I'm only 5'4".

Yes it does, if its anything like the RAF in the UK, there are tons of skills outside of your stereotyped pilot role. In the RAF, most of the work relates to electronics, maintinence, logistics and engineering. I know of many people who have left the RAF and found jobs as engineers, electricians and such.
So yes, any armed forces in any country offers training that can be applied after you leave, even as a commercial pilot.
