I agree with you wholly!!I cant see how someone who is supposed to be a man of God can condone the suffering of his fellow man, when there is a way to stop the suffering by just saying a few words and letting the Africans use condoms.
Sorry if that sounds a bit garbled but Ive had a couple of drinks tonight. Hope you understand. xx

There are a number of errors in your statement (apart from the numerous spelling mistakes) The pope is neither mad nor a monk. It is not the duty of the pope nor the Catholic church to provide condoms or contraceptives to anyone.
It is a fundamental tenet of RC doctrine that unnatural contraception is morally wrong and that contraception cannot be used as the lesser of two evils i.e. to protect against STDs as against the prevention of pregnancy.
You may not agree with this stance but it is the belief of the RC Church that its teachings are inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it has no option but to proclaim its beliefs. The pope would surely be branded a hypocrite if he were to do otherwise.

The more important question is why do we care about the opinion of the catholic church? Notice that the Africans who follow it's laws are poor uneducated people. They base their so called knowledge on faith and completely ignore facts, just like most other religions.
We should choose science over religion in this and most other situations. Look at how long it took the catholic church to give in to Galileo's "crazy" theory.

sorry to pick, but the pope is the head of the catholic church. In principle, all contraception is ruled out by catholicism. Other catholic representatives may take a different view but i'm pretty sure the pope being the catholic archetype would have to adhere to this rule.

it is a ploy so they can skim the masive amout of cash going into Africa through Christian funds.
Condoms would end world hunger in poor countries. Why would they want that. The catholic consiracy theories are so much better than the Bush theories

we all know the african nations are wising up on the rest of the world , can now see through the pope and his church and have decided not to send all their monies to the mad one. no money for the catholic church - no help for those who need it!

Of course they should have contraception, I know it is against the beliefs of the roman catholic church, but lets be honest how many practising catholics are using it then going to confession which is just hypocritical

Why bother? Is it our responsibility? They will just rape babies to give the unclean AIDS spirits to them. I'm sick of people blaming Africas' problems on the West. No-one FORCES them to spend their GNP on guns instead of infrastructure, health care, or whatever.
