Help with audio deal! should i do it?

Here's what the dude is offering:

Two 12" Exile subs in a dual box for 180$
5" PowerBass stereo components (mids&tweeters) for 175$
Install kit: 100$
Zapco i-force i1450 amp ( 4 x 75 ) for 545$

That ends up adding to 1000 dollars, then for extra 150 bucks he'll install it all nicely and ready to go.

All in canadian dollars. Should i do it?

Everythin would be around $1030US with install

Zapco makes some of the finest audio amplifiers on the market, but you could buy that model new for under $300. It's in their lower-end, yet still very nice. Zapco is one of the most respected names in car audio.

Not sure on the subs.

This is not a decent deal at all. Sounds like your buddy is trying to upgrade his system on your wallet. Keep researching. You'll find a much better combo' for the money.

thats absolutely terrible equiptment. Never talk to that person again.

for 1000 dollars you could nab up a JLaudio 12w6, 4 boston acoustic speakers, a jl e4300 amp or similar (for the speakers), and a nice phoenix gold octane (maybe even xenon) series amp for it.

it will sound far far better, and perform better as well.

exile, zapco, powerbass, and such is all completely worthless.

edit: for yak: Having headphones on is illegal IIRC while driving, and is overall a very bad idea.

Complete RIP OFF!!!!! For that type of cash I can sell you a nice share of the Brooklyn Bridge. Because thats what that guy is trying to do to you. Not only is that whole set up garbage but, I wouldn't let any one that deals in that stuff touch the wiring in my car!!!

ZAPCO IS GOOD,EVEN THOUGH ITS THE ENTRY LEVEL LINE...THE REST IS CRAP...YOU CAN DEFINITELY FIND A BETTER DEAL THAN THAT.. STAY AWAY FROM THE SONY AND BLAUPUNKT TRASH TOO...AND BANDPASS BOXES

Do you really want to part with that much cash for music? Why not spend it on a nice ipod and listen to it through your ear buds?
