I guess it would depend on the stores and stuff. From my recent info collected chihuahuas are nice and get along with cats and I have always wanted one! :) I'm going to check how much it would be at my Humane Society. If you get one from a humane society the adoption fee is usually between $50 and $100 but it almost always includes the costs to spay the dog. If you adopt one from a breed rescue (you're unlikely to find a purebred chihuahua at a shelter unless you're really patient) the adoption fees are usually around $200.
Please don't buy one from a pet store when there are a lot looking for homes right now.
http://www.petfinder.com is a great resource for locating a specific breed and age of animal... you can often find a puppy or adult who has been abandonded and is looking for someone like you to give her a great home.

My chihuahua cost 235.00- chihuahuas are usually an easy breed to find (depending on where you live), so they shouldn't cost an extreme price. My chihuahua doesn't shed at all, and she gets along with my other two dogs very well. Good Luck :)

1,000 there the smallest pets and they don't grow very big so thats why they cost so much
