We are just terribly insecure and indecisive. Maybe we've met the girl of our dreams but it just hasn't quite clicked and once back in the office with all the stress and tension of the day to day, events overpower us and we don't find the time to make that promised call. And then suddenly 5 months have passed and we think that if we call now, it will seem out of place. Maybe she will no longer even put a face to our name.
Someone will reply, 'speak for yourself, matey.' But I am just being honest. And to be fair, I am sure the same thing happens with women to some extent as well.
The solution: When he asks for your number, ask for his as well. Be modern. Don't just wait for him to call. If you care, you want to show him. This does not make you 'easy' if you think you have met the right person. If you give your number to everybody, that is a different story altogether.

guys play a numbers game getting numbers, if you catch my drift.
Dont worry. If they dont ask then you have ZERO chance of getting a call. If they do ask then you know you are on the radar and are HOT.
Guys dont collect numbers off ugly girls.
If they call, they call. If they dont, they dont.
Maybe have a few comeback lines-like "I'd prefer a drink thanks"

They just want to know if you were going to give them your number. They were not actually interested in you. I guess like a little adventure.

I've learned that it's the thrill of chase. They want to know that they can call on you and you still be there waiting. Sad but true.
