Hi there...in all actuality they really don't need to be bathed. If they have fleas, you can purchase flea wipes for them online. The reason is that all cats don't like being bathed and some react very scared--a statistical fact that any vet can confirm. However, there are some exceptions, but those cats who like being bathed are very unusual. Unlike dogs, cats are exceptional at grooming themselves so there's no need to bathe them and it will be one less thing for you to do as well. :-) BUT...if you want to help use unscented baby wipes. All cats spend a large percentage of their days grooming themselves and they are experts at it. They use their barbed tongues and lick dirt and debris off their fur in order to keep it clean and odour free. Cats with long hair may require the occasional bath if their fur gets too oily, but with regular brushing that may eliminate bathing. There are also occasional times when your cat's fur may get excessively dirty due to some mishap that the cat has gotten itself into. In some of these cases it may be necessary to give your cat a bath, but generally it isn't required and sometimes babywipes will be all that is needed if that's the case. :-)

Why would you give the kitten a bath? Seriously? Cats are very good self groomers. I have 4 male cats, clean healthy and beautiful boys that have never seen a bath.
4 weeks old does seem way way way tp young. However, at the shelter when we get a dirty stray kitten in, we use gentle baby wipes to give them a good rub down. Just get plain unscented ones, it won't hurt the kitten.

Well, there is nothing wrong with giving them a bath at any age but why would you? Giving them a bath at 3 weeks is for no reason.. wait if you must until they are 6 weeks or older. I really do not know why you would want to give them a bath at all unless they had fleas, etc etc.

My kitten is 5 weeks and I bathed him. But if you aren't sure I would call or go to the vet. Do your kittens have fleas? If not then I would wait until they were atleast 6-8 weeks. The only reason I gave mine a bath is because he had fleas and I didn't want to bring him home until I got rid of them. My vet told me that he would be fine. I just used a mild antibacterial soap and only a couple drops of it. But when your done towel dry them completely. After mine was bathed and dried I put a heating pad in a pet carrier and put the towel on it and set the pad on low and put them in there...kittens love to be very warm. Kittens usually don't start to groom them selves until around atleast 5 weeks ( have bottle raised lots of kittens....mommy got hit by car or abandoned them) So if mommy is there and they don't have fleas then mom is doing her job....

Too young for a bath!!! cats can get really bad colds from bathing, so this is an alternative, go to walmart or petsmart and get the bathing wipes and just wipe them. Make sure you completely dry them before you let them run loose. Avoid any water in their ears, that is why the wipes are a great alternative.

4 weeks is way too early. i'd wait until 8 - 10 weeks. BUT in the mean time, you can use pet wipes (just like extra large baby wipes). they are gentle for the kitties, clean them up nicely, they'll probably enjoy it better than a bath and leave them smelling like a baby!!
have fun with your babies!

You can bathe them just don't use any kind of flea shampoo or soap, it will kill them. I used to do mine in the sink with a couple inches of water. Have two people do it though, cats aren't that good with water :)
