Pinotage can be made in a number of styles but it is a difficult variety to make well.

A good Pinotage goes great with barbecued and grilled meat, hearty stews and it is very good with spicy foods and curries -- it is a popular wine in Asia.

Have it an any circumstances where you'd have a red Zinfandel or Southern Rhone wine.

From what I have read about African wines, the ones that originate in south Africa are considered quite good. Since pinot is a type of grape known for its subtle, slightly sweet flavors, Iwould hazard a guess that this a delicately flavored wine that would go well with spicy fish and chicken dishes because this type of wine cools the palate.
