Christianity was forced upon me from an early age by my parents (as is so often the case with many young children who aren't allowed freedom of thought). I was able to free my mind from all that brainwashing crap in my late teens and lead a normal life.

Yes myself. Well I wasn't exactly just a Christian, I was a Catholic. I went to 9 years of Catholic School, had every sacrament except marriage and I was an Altar Server for 4 years. There was too much contradiction in the teachings and too many gaps in it for me. I do hold an interest in it and still ask questions about it to get a better understanding along with other religions.
I broke away and became an Agnostic in 1996. Then I was a Wiccan for a short time and eventually became the Solitary Eclectic which I am now.

I was a practicing Christian for over 30 years.
I've even baptized people.
But, according to some on these boards, I was never a "real Christian," nor do I know what I'm talking about. But, they do.
Uh-huh.... seems I've heard it before somewhere.. a long time ago.
How did I get over it? I used the intelligence God gave me and concluded there was no credible evidence to support God belief. The bible is a book of mythology and Christianity is based on lies.
IF the bible was even remotely true, it was inspired by Satan.
Fortunately for bible believers, it is not true.

I used to be an actor in dramas and played in the church band. I also went to 3 mission trips all across the world. There just comes a time where you realize what the world is really like. The ultimate test of faith comes with growing up.

Me, I was very active but didn't so much witness ...but I am with you. I don't think I call myself a Christian anymore because the faith is too shaky for me and I have too many doubts. The people at my church were way too judgemental and tried to force things on members. Okay, so I got preggers outside of marriage, but they tried to force us (me and bf) to get married and I was not having that. Futher, they made him step down from his position as armorbearer - whoa! so i just started to believe it wasn't for me. I am still trying to figure myself into it, but I don't know if its foundation is credible.

Yes, I used to go to church all the time growing up. But I never felt anything, never got close to God. Too many others were in my way. Now that I don't go to church anymore, i almost feel more connected and aware of God.
I don't know if I would call myself Christian anymore, though

I used to be a very active Christian. Now I am not an ex-Christian, but I don't go to church. I also don't believe clergy in general practice what they preach. It's all about fleecing their flock in my opinion.

I am one who has walked away from the Christian faith. I found lies that did not support what it claims to be. I was given the religion as a child. It was handed to me and it was handed to my parents. I chose to research it and study it and draw my on conclusions. I chose to walk away and seek my own path. I'm very happy with my choice.
