There is so much emphasis in our culture on weight and weight-management, you would think that determining a good weight for an average or healthy girl was some kind of exact science, but it isn’t. Physicians have developed charts which describe what the range of weights are for people of various ages and heights. Next time you see your doctor, you may want to ask about the average weight of a 17 year old girl at a particular height.

The healthiest weight to be is another question. Even experts don’t agree on this. The majority of people and doctors believe that being in the average weight range or slightly underweight for age and height is healthy.

The weight of a healthy 17 year old female will naturally vary during her menstrual cycle. Other factors, including build and family history, are also important contributors to what her natural weight will be. There is no one weight that is healthiest for anyone.

When I was 17 I was about 155-160. I also was a carpenter and lifted weights so I was muscular. It also depends on your height. There are some sites that average your weight by your height and age. Try some of those.

Depends on height. They say "average" is five feet at one hundred pounds and five additional pounds for every inch over that, but it all depends on your body type. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you're a fit person you will probably be "overweight" by those standards. Health is more important than weight.

Weight depends on height. Also, if you have more muscle and less fat, you will weigh more than someone with more fat and less muscle, even though the two would look the same, because muscle weighs more than fat. Ask your doctor.
