Baptism (English spelling) is a function of insanity which prevails across the religious community. Sad but true.

The Bible is Trash.

The Bible is the biggest load of garbage and codswallop ever written by man, and I’m sure it will go down in history as the greatest load of gobbledygook ever to inflict such traumatic mental and physical damage on humanity, but still today, some people sadly believe the Bible to be true. That’s very sad indeed. Very sad.

When people quote various passages from the Bible, for example ...

Mathew 5:29-30 God encouraged self-mutilation.
Isaiah 13:15-18 God allowed women raped and little children slaughtered.
Genesis 6:11-17 and 7:11-24 God is the greatest mass murder in history.

What happens? Religious people pop up from under every stone with the same old garbage. “That was the old Bible, or we’ve changed the meaning, or we’ve changed the context, or the quotes are out of context or or or, excuse after excuse.”

The fact is, they are Bible quotes, and the Bible is full of evil atrocities which religious people continually cover up, yet seem happy to drum into the minds of gullible little children. This is such a shameful disgrace in a civilised world.

If religious people are unable to apply commonsense and logic to develop a simple moral code to live by, then perhaps they could strip out of the Bible the evil, murders, rapes, abuse, and all traumatic references. Granted there will not be a lot left to read, but at least religious people may end up with a decent moral code to follow based on good, and not scare the living daylights out of innocent little children.

Yes. I'm the one in Pre-School Sunday School Class that wondered why Christianity was the only true religion and all the rest were false or myths. I'm a realist. There's no real proof one way or the other for me. I had my first run-in with the Religious Fundamentalist Right when I was 11 YO. I still think they are wrong about everything. I believe in the US Constitution: I just wish they did!

The bible IS TRUE
In MATHEW the bible says if the eye's offend you then pluck it out or if the hand offend you cut it off.
Think about this IF LUST is a problem for you. That when you look upon a woman or a man that your mind wars with itself and cause lust in your heart. And you SIN. AND Sin sends your whole body to hell. Would you rather loose a eye or limb or suffer the loss of your whole body.

In Isa.. 13:15 God is warning the children of Israel that he will punish them for there disobedience. Remember God punishes Nations.

In all things keep the scriptures in there proper context. Any person can use the bible to say something different then what was intended

Rituals are for believers. They help cement the membership in the community and have meaning only within that community.

Beyond that, baptism is not some wizard's spell that suddenly makes God recognize a person's right to exist. If God is a childish game player who will not welcome you into the club until you say the password, then he deserves no more respect than a 7-year-old on the playground.

I was baptized when I was baby. So the good thing is that if the end comes and Christianity is the one true religion, I get to go to heaven and STILL be able to think for myself.

i don't think the "almighty" cares if you took a dip in the pool or not, i think it's more of the significance behind it (the persons dedication to him). if your a murderer do you still get saved if your baptized?

if you are not a christian, you should not be baptized. baptism by itself will never save you. only faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ will save you. baptism is a sign that you have accepted Jesus as Savior AND Lord and are now in relationship with Him.

God knows where your heart is. Baptism is not what saves you. It's believing that Jesus died on the cross for your sins that saves you.

Baptism won't save you, just get you wet.

No, that would be hipocracy. You would be participating in something you don't believe in.
