They'll be migrating soon and will get stressed if you prevent them from leaving.
Wait til they return next year and start feeding them.

If you can prove that they were originally domestic (like, tracking down the previous owners) then maybe. But if they migrate, they're protected under the Federal Migratory Bird protection act and you'll be in super-big trouble if you mess with them. If they're part wild, they might migrate along with wild geese. It sounds like a bad idea. Buy your own.

No. It is illegal under the migratory bird act as the other person mentioned. I reasearched this when I wanted a crow as a pet. The only way to have any wild bird as a pet is for rehablitative purposes and that requires a permit which is very difficult to obtain.

do you mean kidnap them and make them live somewhere they don`t want to???....there were some of those chinese geese on our local pond and a woman did exactly that...she was arrested and the geese were released back into the wild

I am not sure what you mean by "adopting". If you are asking if it is legal to be in possesion, it is legal. They are not native species so no state or federal permit is needed to keep them. There are local laws that may not let you keep them in certain areas, suc as subdivisions.
